![]() ![]() I used to live in southern California (Orange County and Santa Clarita Valley) and had a 1987 Chrysler LeBaron (this was in 1987) that I had the windows tinted, including the two front doors. any state not listed requires one.Īrizona, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Indiana, and Oklahoma. by the way, Barney, the Texas legislature passed a law last year stating that there can be NOTHING on or around (and this includes license plate brackets of ANY kind) a license plate.and then they announced that "they wouldn't enforce it." for some reason, I don't trust them on this.Īs far as states that do NOT require a front plate, I have come up with the following very unscientific list. my friend who sells parts for Chrysler TC Maseratis beat me that day he sold 37, again, all to Ohio.ģ) Texas. we sold 22 (all to Ohio) in less than two hours. our all time record day for bracket sales was in May of last year. the State Highway Patrol has "target months" for these. they are not buying them because they like them, but because they received a ticket for not having one.ġ) OHIO. This is by no means scientific, but I do know which states we sell the most front license plate brackets to. Think of the money and problems we could avoid. I propose we elect our state and federal lawmakers, pay their salaries, and tell them to STAY HOME. It seems there is a new law or requirement for the inspectors to check for this.now the punch line, the inspector doesn't care if you have no front license plate and will pass the car during inspection, but if it has a front plate with any obstruction (clear cover or dealer frame that covers any part of the identification) they must fail the car. Recently during my state inspection, I was told that the clear plastic cover over my front license plate would not pass inspection next year. But, in 35 years in the state, I have never met anyone ticketed for not having one. Texas also requires a front license plate. However, have you ever noticed that the cars with the deep tint are police cars.who enforces the law there? I have heard many reasons for the extent of the tinting. There was no option on the glass.Īs noted above, Texas (and many other states) have laws on window tinting. In my research on Reattas, I have seen nothing that would indicate that California or any other state got deeper tinted glass. ![]()
